ST. CROIX — The Virgin Islands Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating Zelma Vernica Taylor, above, who went missing since February, according to a press release issued by Glen Dratte, the V.I.P.D.’s public information officer.

According to the release, Ms. Taylor is 38 years old with a dark brown complexion, black, short hair and is known to wear glasses. She is five feet two inches tall and weighs about 240 pounds.

Ms. Taylor goes by the moniker “Vernie”, is a resident of St. Croix and was last seen at the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as Food Stamp, office in Frederiksted. Ms. Taylor has also been diagnosed with a psychological disorder, according to the release.

Police are asking anyone with information about Ms. Taylor’s whereabouts to contact 911 immediately or the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340 778-2211.
