Tia Talks Upcoming Work, Touring Islands, Being Married And Babies

Entertainment / News / October 28, 2016

Virgin Islands reggae singer Tia, who recently tied the knot with her longtime lover, Phillmore Mills (DJ Genius), recently debuted her latest music video on The Consortium, which has so far garnered over 17,000 views and a host of positive feedback.

Since our last interview, however, the songbird has been up to multiple exploits, traveling the islands, working with venerable producers and dropping multiple singles in the buildup to her Extended Play (EP) project.

We recently conducted a question and answer session with Mrs. Mills. Read her responses below.

Since our last interview, what has happened in the world of Tia?

I have released several singles and music videos, and have had some performances where I have shared a stage with artists like Queen Ifrica, Ras Batch, Jah 9, Dezarie, Etana, I- Octane, and Pressure. I’ve also worked with a couple international producers, and just networking in general.

You’ve been performing throughout the islands and have been booked for many events. How does it feel to see your progression as an artist?

I’ve enjoyed my progression thus far, because it has allowed me to meet people I’ve never dreamed of meeting. The most rewarding thing is when people get the same feeling from my music that it gave me when I wrote it.

Tell us about your latest song, “Can You Feel It?”

The song is about someone who feels as if she can’t/doesn’t want to escape from the love she feels toward her significant other, so she seeks reassurance that they feel the same way she does.

What’s in store for Tia? What can we look forward to in the near and mid-term future?

More traveling, networking, more singles, and I plan to start working on an EP.

You just got married to DJ Genius! It’s still fresh, but how does it feel? And any babies soon?

Well it feels the same (laughs). We’ve been together for 4 years already… Just dreading having to do all this paperwork to change my last name on everything.

As far as babies, everything in God’s timing…

Where can your music be purchased?

All my music can be purchased on my website tiarasongs.webs.com. You can also check out all my social media accounts:
