Watch: Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team Plays Ball On St. Croix

ST. CROIX — The Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team, comprised of veteran and active servicemen who have served the U.S. — traveling around the country playing able-bodied teams in celebrity exhibition softball games — played ball with various local teams on this island last night, bringing excitement and amazement as they brought strong competition to their opponents.

The event was organized by the Office of Senator Sammuel Sanes, and took 7 months to put together, according to Mr. Sanes. He’s hoping that event becomes an annual affair.

Last night, the Wounded Warriors played against two local teams — one with local celebrities, according to the event’s program, and another with V.I. National Guard members and first responders — at the D.C. Canegata Ballpark.

Watch the video below, which shows the Wounded Warriors winning against the local team comprised of first responders and the V.I. National Guard.
