ST. CROIX — Two restaurants here were voted among the best in the Caribbean by U.S.A. today, according to U.S.A Today’s Top Ten website, 10Best.

Winners were chosen by a panel of Caribbean travel experts, according to the site, who hand-picked their favorite restaurants in the region as nominees for Best Restaurant in the Caribbean. 10Best readers had for weeks voted on their favorites.

When the results came in, balter and Savant, well-known restaurants on St. Croix, came in 7 and 9 respectively. See all winners below:

  1. Casa Cortés ChocoBar – San Juan, Puerto Rico
  2. Sheer Rocks – Antigua
  3. Olveston House – Montserrat
  4. The Cliff Restaurant – Barbados
  5. Jade Mountain Club – St. Lucia
  6. da Conch Shack – Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
  7. balter – St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
  8. Queen’s Gardens Restaurant – Saba
  9. Savant – St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
  10. At Sea Restaurant – Bonaire

According to 10Best, a panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to pick the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote. Experts Liliana Erasmus (10Best), Sarah Greaves-Gabbadon (JetSetSarah.com), Melanie Reffes and Chelle Walton (10Best) were chosen based on their expertise of the Caribbean region, according to the site.
