ST. CROIX — V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte on Wednesday announced via press release that a 2-year-old toddler died during a car accident that occurred near the Estate Whim Shanty.
According to Mr. Dratte, at approximately 11:29 a.m. on Wednesday, the 911 emergency call center received a call in reference to an accident that had occurred on the Queen Mary Highway (Centerline Road) near the Whim shanty.
Mr. Dratte said officers from the Traffic Division responded and observed a vehicle that had struck a tree and flipped over. There were two adults and three minors in the vehicle.
A 2-year-old toddler who was in the vehicle during the accident died from injuries sustained, according to Mr. Dratte. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
