“We believe it’s important for our students to not only get to college, but through college, thus we want to provide resources to our members to ensure college completion,” outgoing Golden Key President Kevin Dixon, above center-left, said.
Due to the overwhelming support from the Virgin Islands community, four scholarships were awarded to two undergraduate students and two graduate students for the upcoming 2017-2018 academic year.
Scholarship winners are undergraduate students Torhera Durand, a junior majoring in biology, and Ki-Ana Tonge, a sophomore majoring in education.
Graduate students recipients are Lennoxsea Thompson, master of business administration major and Naiella Knight-James, a master of arts education in counseling major.
“It took hard work from my team, and the tremendous support of the UVI community and broader Virgin Islands,” Dixon said. “We are ecstatic that we started a trend, but we hope it will have a continuous impact for years to come.”
