V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced the following arrests in the territory between June 24 and June 27.
Traffic stop leads to gun-related arrest (St. Croix)
On June 24 at 11:33 p.m., officers discovered a firearm in the vehicle of Jason Abramson. Mr. Abramson, 31, was stopped during a traffic stop checkpoint initiative organized by police at Carlton on the Queen Mary Highway in the vicinity of Mid -West Car Rentals.
Mr. Abramson was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, and was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center.
Mayhem (St. Croix)
On Tuesday, Fanny Andrew Clarke, 46, was arrested pursuant to a warrant issued by a Superior Court magistrate. Ms. Andrews is accused of assaulting her sister on January 7, causing injury to her eye.
She was charged with mayhem and was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending her advise-of-rights hearing, after failing to make bail of $35,000.
Second-degree assault (St. Croix)
On Tuesday at approximately 1:48 p.m., a female individual called from Richmond, Christiansted to the 911 emergency call center requesting police assistance, stating that she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
Upon officers’ arrival to the scene, the victim stated her boyfriend strangled her and punched her in the face. Members from the Criminal Investigation Bureau located the suspect, Johnattan Soto, 35, and charged him with second-degree assault.
He was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
Destruction of property (St. Croix)
On Monday at approximately 11:00 p.m., Samory O’Bryan, 25, was arrested for destruction of property.
On Monday at around 7:00 p.m., Mr. O’Bryan’s father called the 911 emergency call center in reference to a disturbance at home, telling police that his son was damaging family property.
No bail was set for Mr. O’Bryan, who was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center.
Simple assault (St. Thomas)
On Monday, at an unspecified time, patrol officers were dispatched to Blackbeard Castle relative to a domestic dispute.
Upon their arrival, contact was made the two individuals (police did not provide mugshots), who both stated that they got into a verbal and physical altercation. Police say the female then began to damage the male victim’s vehicle with a machete. Then the male in turn assaulted the female. They were both transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center and were treated for minor injuries.
Juan Francisco Fabian Rodriquez, 46, and 50-year-old Maria Eugenia Morals De-Allen, were both arrested for simple assault. They were later transported to the Richard Callwood Command Zone, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending their advise-of-rights hearing.
