ST. CROIX — A man survived after being shot in the thigh on Tuesday night at the Canegata Ballpark in Gallows Bay, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced late Tuesday.

Mr. Dratte said the incident occurred late Tuesday afternoon, with the victim being dropped off to the Juan F. Luis Hospital by two black adult males at 5:15 p.m., where his wounds were treated.

The victim told police that he was shot in the vicinity of the tamarind tree at the Canegata Ballpark. Police say the are following some leads.
