ST. CROIX — The Virgin Islands Police Department on Tuesday arrested 19-year-old Carl Shaquille Cornelius in connection with a May burglary that he was involved in with two other men, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Wednesday.
Mr. Cornelius turned himself in on Tuesday at the V.I.P.D.’s Wilbur H. Francis Command facility in Frederiksted. According to police, Mr. Cornelius, along with Hubert Willis Lee Jr. and Link Baltimore Jr., worked in concert by forcing their way through a glass sliding door of a home in Annaly, Frederiksted.
Once inside, the men vandalized the residence and removed several items before leaving in a pick-up truck belonging to the owners of the residence, according to Mr. Dratte.
Mr. Cornelius was charged with third-degree burglary, and was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advisement hearing.
