In the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, with cellular service still intermittent in many areas and with companies such as Viya, the territory’s largest internet service provider, being badly damaged by the storms (most of Viya’s customers are without service), the initiative by the Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (viNGN), as well as Viya, to install free WiFi hotspots in multiple locations around the islands have been a positive for the community.

In a release issued Sunday, viNGN included an updated list of its hotspot locations around the USVI. Find them below.

Free Public Wi-Fi Hot Spots

St. John — in partnership with Love City Strong, LoveIT.vi, First Phase Datacomm, and Computer Express in Cruz Bay:

  • Boulon Center
  • BMV/Tennis Court Parking Lot
  • Connections of St. John
  • Grand Bay Condominiums
  • The Marketplace

St. Thomas hotspots:

  • Havensight in the vicinity of Virgin’s Haven
  • Lockhart Elementary School Shelter (partner Surge Broadband)
  • Port of $ale Mall in the vicinity of Tap & Still/Beni Iguana & Brix
  • Red Hook near the temporary parking lot adj. to Eudora Kean (partner ADM
    Wireless)

St. Croix hotspots:

  • Ann E. Abramson Pier in Frederiksted
  • Caravelle Hotel & Casino/the Boardwalk in Christiansted
  • Florence Williams Public Library (outside)
  • Grove Place Fire Station
  • Midre Cummings Ball Park/Fairgrounds in Frederiksted
  • Sunny Isle
