The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on Thursday that power restoration continues to move forward with 59 percent of the territory reenergized as of Thursday. The percentage places the utility closer to its goal of 90 percent restoration by Christmas, but with just 9 more days before December 25, it remains to be seen whether the goal will be met.

St. John: While crews are working throughout Cruz Bay and Coral Bay.
On St. Croix Thursday, additional customers were restored in Williams Delight, Enfield Green, Upper Love, Grove Place, Calquahoun, Two Brothers, Smithfield, Seven Hills, Tipperary, St. John and Sion Farm.
On St. Thomas, crews restored customers in areas including: West Caret Bay, Hawk Hill, Flag Hill, Mountain Top, Hull Bay, Solberg, Annas Fancy and Old Tutu. On Friday some customers in East Caret Bay and Peterborg will be restored. Additionally, crews will continue to work to energize businesses in Crown Bay including Tropical Shipping, Crowley, MSI Building Supplies, MSI Interiors and The Sea Chest.
On St. John, customers were restored in Guinea Gut, Upper and Lower Carolina, Zootenvaal, Catherineberg and Hard Labor.
- The WAPA Customer Service office on St. John will operate on an abbreviated schedule until further notice. The office will open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Due to Internet connectivity challenges, only checks, certified checks and money orders will be accepted as forms of payment. Customers must provide account numbers in order to process all transactions.
Residents are reminded of the need to shut off standby generators when line crews are in your neighborhood restoring electrical service. A standby generator has the potential to back feed electricity to the grid which poses a severe safety risk to restoration crews.
POTABLE WATER SYSTEM: There are five days of emergency water storage on St. Croix, six days on St. John and eight days on St. Thomas.
