Watch: Gubernatorial Candidate Donastorg Lampoons Mapp In State Of Territory Address Response

News / Videos / Virgin Islands / January 23, 2018

ST. CROIX — Gubernatorial candidate Adlah Donastorg held back no punches when responding to Governor Kenneth Mapp’s State of the Territory Address, delivered on Monday night. He relegated the address as a “state of confusion,” and named Mr. Mapp a third hurricane. Mr. Donastorg also called on the governor to release details of his credit card spending, which Mr. Donastorg contends would go a long way in being transparent. The speech includes other demands such as releasing tax return to Virgin Islanders and addressing the Government Employees’ Retirement System. Watch.

The candidate’s fighting spirit foretells a political season that is expected to be impassioned not only in the gubernatorial field — which has no less than eight candidates running — but the senatorial race as well, with a number of new faces, on St. Croix specifically, announcing their bids.
