VITEMA’s New Website Will Be Launched On Friday, Agency Says

The Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) will launch its new website on Friday, the agency has confirmed. VITEMA officials said the new website has been designed to offer the “ultimate user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionality.”

The new website will provide users with quick and easy access to essential emergency preparedness and response information, according to the government agency. The site is also said to boast a clean and uncluttered design, and also has features that offer a more comprehensive understanding of the agency’s services along with extensive information to help customers understand VITEMA’s mission and purpose.

“We are truly excited about our new website launch and the robust information it provides for customers, partners and media to better prepare for, and respond to disasters,” said VITEMA Director Mona Barnes. “We believe that our site will allow visitors to have a very informative experience as we continue to grow, administer and coordinate All-Hazards response and recovery operations in the territory.”

She added: “We would like to thank the community for your patience as we transition and roll out the new website. We would also like to thank the website’s developers OmniSystems Inc. for their hard work in helping us to meet the needs of the territory.”

The website’s Friday launch comes as the 2018 hurricane season, which begins on June 1, is quickly approaching. The site is essential in informing residents of emergency situations, and is especially relied upon during the hurricane season.

VITEMA said the community will have access to the website at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
