Man Is Found Dead In Hotel On The Cay Pool; Police Investigating Incident

ST. CROIX — A man was found dead in a Hotel on the Cay pool on Saturday, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.

Mr. Dratte said the hotel’s employees contacted emergency personnel at 5:01 p.m. on Saturday to report that an elderly man was pulled from a pool at the hotel, and was unresponsive even after CPR was administered.

Emergency medical technicians responded to the scene, however the victim was declared deceased, according to Mr. Dratte. The male victim was a guest of the hotel identified as 71-year-old Carlos Wesley. He was identified by his wife.

Mr. Dratte said the cause of death as of Saturday was not yet determined, as investigators were awaiting results from an autopsy.
