ST. CROIX — A young man was shot multiple times on the Campo Rico basketball court on Friday night and succumbed to his wounds at the Juan F. Luis Hospital, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.
According to Mr. Dratte, the 911 emergency call center received notification of shots being fired in the vicinity of the Campo Rico baskebtall court at 7:56 p.m. Friday. Officers responded and discovered a black male individual on the court, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds about his body.
The victim was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to Mr. Dratte.
The deceased was identified by next of kin as 24-year-old La’Quan Hill.
Mr. Dratte said the incident remains under active investigation.
