The Division of Personnel is hosting its health and wellness expo this week territory-wide, with the first event taking place today on St. Croix and Friday on St. Thomas, according to a release issued late Monday.
The health and wellness expo, which is for government employees and retirees on the health insurance plan, will be held at the Canegata Ballpark facility today at 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Health screenings begin at 8:30 a.m., according to the release.
In order for Personnel staff members to facilitate the expos, the office on St. Croix will be closed Tuesday and will resume normal operations at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, according to the release. The St. Thomas office will be closed on Friday and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Monday.
The wellness campaign is hosted by the Office of the Governor, Division of Personnel, GESC Health Insurance Board and CIGNA Insurance. The theme of the expo is “Helping Employees Achieve Long-Term Health”, and will launch a yearlong campaign encouraging GVI employees to make better health and lifestyle choices, according to the release.
“Events such as these help promote healthier lifestyles,” Personnel Director Milton Potter said.
