ST. CROIX — Two St. Croix men were arrested over the weekend during separate incidents for allegedly strangling the women that they were involved with, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.

The first incident occurred on Saturday at around 4:03 a.m., according to Mr. Dratte. Police from the Ancilmo Marshall Command Police Station responded to a reported domestic disturbance at Long Reef Condos in Christiansted, where they met with the female victim, who told police that her male acquaintance struck several times and strangled her until she could no longer breathe.

At about 6:30 p.m. on the same day, police arrested the suspect, 34-year-old Jorge M. Borque, charged him with second-degree assault and remanded him to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advisement hearing. As per the territory’s domestic violence laws, no bail was granted to the suspect.

Also on August 4 at approximately 9:28 a.m., officers from the Wilbur Francis Command Police Station responded to a reported domestic disturbance at the Walter I. M. Hodge Pavilion in Frederiksted.

Upon officers’ arrival to the location, they met with the female victim who stated that a male acquaintance strangled and assaulted her.

On Sunday at approximately 11:10 a.m., 26-year-old Sean F. Miller was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree assault. He was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advisement hearing, according to police.
