The Virgin Islands Parole Board will be hosting two town hall meetings next week as it seeks to introduce the community to its new board members, while informing the public of its initiatives for this year.
According to a release the board issued, residents will also be allowed to ask questions at the town halls. Virgin Islanders have long been somewhat nonplussed about some of the decisions the board has made in the past relative to who is granted parole, and the town halls have the potential to serve as outlets to clarify how such decisions come about.
On St. Croix, the town hall will held in a conference room at the Elections System office at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on August 27. On St. Thomas, the town hall will be held on August 28 at the Elections System office upstairs Banco Popular at the Lockhart Gardens Shopping Center, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
