Auto Collision In St. Thomas Leaves 31-Year-Old Man Dead

ST. THOMAS — An auto collision on Krum Bay road in St. Thomas Tuesday night left a 31-year-old man dead, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Wednesday. The accident occurred just after the 9:00 p.m. hour.

The 911 emergency call center was notified of the accident at approximately 9:21 p.m., according to Mr. Dratte. The V.I.P.D.’s traffic division along with emergency medical technicians responded to the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle belonging to a company named ABC Sales and Services Inc., was traveling east on the Krum Bay road, while another vehicle, a yellow car, was traveling west on the same roadway. According to Mr. Dratte, the vehicle traveling west crossed over the median strip in the roadway and collided with the vehicle traveling east.

The operator of the vehicle traveling west was pronounced dead on the scene by EMT personnel, Mr. Dratte said. The deceased was identified by next of kin as 31-year-old Christopher A. Blanchard.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle sustained minor injuries.
