ST. CROIX –The Department of Education has announced that Eulalie Rivera Elementary School students will return for the 2018-19 school year on Wednesday, Sept., 26 at the regularly scheduled time, and not Monday as the department had said on Friday.
The change comes after Rosa Soto-Thomas, the president of the St. Croix District American Federation of Teachers, told The Consortium Friday multiple teachers reported to her that classrooms at Eulalie Rivera were not ready to house students.
D.O.E. said students should come dressed in the school’s uniform on Wednesday, and that school buses will pick up and drop students off at the usual times and locations.
On Monday and Tuesday, Eulalie Rivera Elementary School teachers and staff will report to work to make final preparations to classrooms, offices and other areas before students return, D.O.E. said.
