Governor Kenneth Mapp on Wednesday traveled out of the territory for meetings in Washington with U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Housing and Urban Development officials, Government House has announced.
In the governor’s stead, Dept. of Finance Commissioner Valdamier Collens will serve as governor, according to the release, which means Lieutenant Governor Osbert Potter is also out of the territory.
Government House said Mr. Mapp will meet with Energy Secretary Rich Perry and HUD Deputy Secretary Pamela Patenaude, along with White House Director of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney.
Mr. Potter is expected back in the territory in Thursday, and will serve as governor until Mr. Mapp’s return on Friday, Government House said.
