ST. CROIX — Police arrested a Central High School student on Thursday afternoon and charged him with possession of an unlicensed firearm and other charges, after finding narcotics and a loaded handgun in the student’s school bag, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Friday.

Mr. Dratte said that at approximately 2:05 p.m. Thursday, the 911 emergency call center was notified of the weapon and narcotics discovery in the student’s possession at the school.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the Central High School monitors, who told police that the student had assaulted a teacher, prompting them to intervene.
