ST. THOMAS — A Tortola man accused by a female acquaintance of physically abusing her was arrested by V.I.P.D. officers Thursday, the police department’s Public Information Officer Glen Dratte made known via release Friday.
Mr. Dratte said the victim reported the incident on Thursday. She said 34-year-old Isaiah R. Frett, seen above, strangled, slapped, punched and bit her. Mr. Dratte said injuries were observed on the victim’s body.
Mr. Frett was apprehended shortly after the complaint was filed in the Coki Point Beach area, where he was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree assault.
As per the territory’s domestic violence laws, no bail was granted to the suspect, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
