The Board of Elections on Thursday held its first organizing meeting following the general election, and there elected Raymond Williams as the board chair, with Arturo Watlington refusing to be nominated for the position. Previously, Mr. Williams served as vice chair.

Serving as vice chair is board member Alicia Wells, and Epiphane Joseph as secretary.

Present at yesterday’s board meeting were members Watlington, Williams, Joseph, Wells, Lydia Hendricks, Atanya Springette, Harriet Mercer, Glen Webster, Lisa Harris-Moorhead, Shikima Jones and Frederick Espinosa. Jevon Williams, Maurice Donovan and Barbara McIntosh were absent.

The next meeting has been set for February 1.
