Marvin Pickering, acting director of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue (B.I.R.), has informed the public through a release issued on Saturday that certain income tax return forms for tax year 2018 have not yet been received as a result of the partial federal government shutdown.
The Internal Revenue Service (I.R.S.) has advised B.I.R. that Virgin Islands residents and businesses may order limited quantities of tax forms, instructions and publications needed to complete 2018 and subsequent tax returns at their website, www.irs.gov. Orders for larger quantities may be obtained by calling the I.R.S. at 800-829-3676. Orders will process and ship by U.S. mail when the products become available and should arrive within 10 business days, according to the release.
Taxpayers with questions about tax forms availability should contact Beverly Hermon Beck, Federal Disclosure Officer at (340) 773-1040, ext. 4215 or Audrey Delemos, U.S. Claims Officer at 773-1040, ext. 2228.
