ST. THOMAS — Teenager Hilary Paris, who on Jan. 5 left the St. Thomas Behavorial Health Care Facility, which is a division of Seaview’s Adolescent Unit, as of January 17 was in police custody, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.
Hilary had been on runaway status for approximately 11 days, according to Mr. Dratte, when the V.I.P.D.’s Juvenile Bureau received information from a concerned resident that she was seen in the Contant area, namely Contant Knolls Housing Community. Detectives were notified of Hilary’s whereabouts at approximately 8:30 p.m., Mr. Dratte said.
The release said detectives from the Juvenile Bureau, Economic Crime Unit, and patrol officers from the Richard Callwood Command quickly traveled to the housing community, where Hilary was located in the rear of building 4, attempting to elude capture.
She was caught by police and placed in protective custody, according to Mr. Dratte.
Acting V.I.P.D. Commissioner Jason Marsh thanked the community for its assistance in locating the teenager. He also commended officers’ and detectives’ persistence in bringing Hilary into police custody, Mr. Dratte said.
