Accident On Highway Leaves Two Vehicles Badly Damaged, No One Seriously Injured

Featured / News / Virgin Islands / October 20, 2014

Around 7:30 a.m. Monday on the Melvin H. Evans Highway on St. Croix, an accident occurred that left two vehicles badly damaged at the intersection near the Diageo Captain Morgan rum distillery. No one was seriously injured in the two-car collision.

One man involved in the accident, who would only identify himself as “Junior,” said an older model grey truck was traveling east and attempted to make a right turn to enter Renaissance Park, when Junior, who was traveling west, slammed into the truck. Junior said he had the right of way, as his traffic light appeared green.

Junior could be seen rubbing his left shoulder; however, he said the pain was minimal, calling it “just muscle pain.”

The VI Consortium approached the other man involved in the accident; however, he declined to speak with our reporter.

Police officers arrived on the scene just before 8 a.m. to assess the damage and receive details of the accident.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
