Twenty-five-year-old Jonathan Vasquez of the Dominican Republic was pronounced dead at the Schneider Regional Medical Center on Sunday after an altercation at Lindberg Bay in St. Thomas that ended with the victim being shot, police spokesperson Melody Rames revealed Monday.

According to initial reports, police were dispatched to possible gun activity just before midnight at The Ranch on Lindberg Bay. However, while heading to the crime scene, officers were advised that the victim was being transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle.
