Man Shot In Williams Delight

Featured / News / Virgin Islands / March 27, 2015

A St. Croix man was shot on Thursday night while delivering a friend in the housing development area of Williams Delight, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.

According to Jackson, at roughly 9:41 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call of a gunshot victim at the Juan F. Luis Medical Center Emergency Room. Officers arrived to the ER and were able to interview the victim, as his injuries were not life-threatening.

The victim, a 19-year-old male, who resides in Estate Williams Delight, stated that he’d just delivered his friend in the project area of William’s Delight when an unknown individual wearing a ski-mask tried to stop his vehicle. The victim said he proceeded to drive away and the unknown assailant started firing shots at his vehicle.

Upon arriving to his residence, the victim said he realized that he was shot and his sibling transported him to the hospital to seek treatment. The young man sustained gunshot wounds to his right arm and was unable to give any further description of the suspect.

The shooting incident is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

Anyone with information concerning this incident may phone the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340- 712-6042, 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
