St. Croix Woman Found Shot Dead At Home

Breaking News / Featured / News / Virgin Islands / October 3, 2014

An overnight shooting claimed the life of Shukura St. Louis, 33, in her Estate Grove Place home, according to police spokeswoman, Melody Rames.

Police are reporting they received a call at about 8:50 a.m. on Oct. 3 alerting them of the fatal shooting. When police arrived at the victim’s home, which she shares with her mother, the mother told officers she heard a gunshot sometime after midnight, but had not given it much thought. She awoke this morning to find her daughter unresponsive with a gunshot wound to her body.

The victim’s body was removed from the home by medical personnel and St. Louis was later pronounced dead by a physician.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau on St. Croix are investigating the shooting and urge the public to come forward with any information that could assist police by calling 911 or Crime Stoppers VI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
