VIPD officers are investigating a possible 1st degree burglary incident that occurred on Wednesday at around 1:00 p.m. in Estate Profit, St. Croix, where three masked men brandishing guns and seeking money, entered the home of a woman making demands, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.
According to Jackson, the victim and her minor son, who was present with his mother during the course of the crime, told the officers that at 11:30 a.m. that morning, one of the masked men pointed what appeared to be an automatic handgun at her and said, “I’m not here to hurt you, I’m here for the money.” Although the VIPD did not release a name, the person the suspects were seeking is the victim’s relative, Jackson said.
The victim told the man, “feel free to look around,” and she sat down on a chair while the suspect and his accomplices searched the home.
Not finding any money, the victim stated that the men simply walked out of the house, leaving both mother and son unharmed.
The case is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
