St. Thomas Mother Whips Son With Curtain Rod, Stabs Him With Kitchen Knife

Breaking News / News / Virgin Islands / July 10, 2015

St. Thomas — A mother who got into an argument with her son ultimately stabbed the boy with a kitchen knife, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced this afternoon.

According to Jackson, on Tuesday at about 11:30 p.m., the 911 emergency call center received notification of an assault in Tutu High Rise. Upon arrival on the scene, the victim told officers that his mother had assaulted him, first with a curtain rod and then with a knife.

The victim said his mother, Anna Clark, began to argue with him in reference to the home’s front door being unlocked and the dishes not being washed. The victim also told officers that his mother swung a curtain rod at him, which he grabbed and did not let go.

The victim’s mother then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and pointed it at his chest and said, “I should stab you,” at which point she began stabbing her son up to three times in his right hand, which required two sutures to close.

Clark was arrested and charged with third degree assault. Unable to make bail of $25,000, she was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advise-of-rights hearing.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
