ST. CROIX — A man was shot multiple times in the wee hours of Friday morning after he took a break from playing billiards (pool) in a restaurant and stepped outside for some fresh air, Kevin Jackson, VIPD’s public information officer has made known via press release.
According to Jackson, the 911 emergency call center received notification of shots being fired in the Sion Farm Shopper Center at about 12:09 a.m., in the vicinity of the Md’s Cafe. Officers immediately responded to the incident, however they were informed that the victim had been rushed to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center seeking care.
Detectives then made their way to JFL to meet with the victim. While there, the victim stated that he had been playing a game of pool at the small restaurant and stepped outside momentarily, heard gunfire and realized that he had been shot.
The victim, sustaining gunshot wounds to his neck and right shoulder, told police that he did not know who shot him.
Detectives are continuing their investigation into this incident.
