ST. CROIX — A former manager of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) fast food restaurant in Frederiksted was charged with embezzlement by employee/agent after allegedly failing to make deposits of $79, 179.93, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Friday.
Tamala Walker, a resident of 31 Bethlehem Village, was also charged with obtaining money under false pretense, forgery and grand larceny. The arrest warrant was executed by officers with the Economic Crime Unit and issued by the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands
According to the report, the charges stem from the period of 2011 to 2012 when Walker, as then-manager of KFC west, failed to make deposits totaling the aforementioned amount.
Unable to make bail of $10,000, Walker was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advise-of-rights hearing.
