ST. CROIX — – The management of Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center (JFL) were recognized by Toastmasters International for their ongoing support during a press conference at the hospital October 15, a press release the hospital issued this evening has revealed.
Officials from the St. Croix Toastmasters Club 933, District 81 Toastmasters and the Region 8 Toastmaster International director presented JFL CEO Dr. Kendall Griffith with an award praising the hospital’s administration for their many years of support.
“Thank you for the recognition you’ve given us today. We are very happy to collaborate with you, and hope you will continue to grow your membership,” said Dr. Griffith.
District 81 Toastmasters represent 26 clubs throughout the Caribbean, and they were ranked fifth, out of 97 districts worldwide, the release stated, adding that the groups hosted their bi-annual conference at Divi Carina Bay Hotel from October 16-18, 2015.
Toastmasters officials said it was important to recognize Juan Luis Hospital and its management for their outstanding contribution to the St. Croix Toastmasters club, because of their willingness to promote positive relationships with both Toastmasters and the community. The St. Croix club has been meeting at the hospital twice a month free of charge for the last 10 years. JFL also supported expansion of Toastmasters by forming its own club the “Healthy Rubies” that was in existence for a number of years.
“We hope to continue this partnership for many more years,” concluded Dr. Griffith.
