ST. CROIX — Tucked away in a clandestine area on the north side of Hess Road and across from Schuster’s Crematorium, Quality Foods — known for its wholesale of fresh goods amongst other services — was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday at about 5:50 p.m. by an unknown assailant, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson revealed via press release this afternoon.
According to Jackson, a preliminary report of the investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the establishment armed with a gun demanding money from the cash register. The suspect took an unknown amount of cash from the business along with money from the wallet of a cashier and fled the area on foot.
The suspect was described as a male, wearing a blue coverall and a ski-mask covering his entire face. The race of the suspect was unknown, due to his body having been fully covered.
Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau are continuing their investigation into the incident.
