ST. THOMAS — Police here arrested and then released to his mother a minor, for first degree aggravated rape, after he was identified as the individual who performed inappropriate oral sex with a female minor, according to VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman. Ms. Freeman said the arrest occurred on Monday at about 10:20 a.m. It was unclear as to whether the incident occurred on the same day.

Elsewhere in St. Thomas, on Sunday, Jan. 24 at about approximately 3:32 a.m, Kareem Huggins (seen here), 29, of Contant was arrested and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm after he was stopped during a police initiative on Alton Adams Drive in the vicinity of the Illusions Night Club located in Barbel Plaza.

According to a VIPD press release issued today, further investigation revealed that the firearm found in Mr. Huggins’ possession had been taken from a police officer during an armed robbery that took place in 2009. Mr. Huggins was then additionally charged with robbery and possession of stolen property.

Unable to make bail of $120,000, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending advise-of-rights hearing.
