ST. THOMAS — A young man succumbed to gunshot wounds after being shot multiple times on Regerrings Gade Street, in the vicinity of Savan, V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman has said.

The incident happened in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, and the 911 emergency call center received notification approximately 3:50 a.m.

Upon arrival on the scene, police met the victim, identified as 23-year-old Kishawn Fleming, lying motionless near the side of the road, according to Ms. Freeman. A preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Fleming had sustained multiple gunshot wounds about the body, and emergency medical technicians indicated that he showed no vital signs of life.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the homicide is under active investigation, and they are asking anyone with information concerning this incident to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-712-6024, 340-712-6037, 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
