UVI’s Bachelor of Nursing Program Now Available For School Of Nursing Applicants in 2016-2017

UVI School of Nursing Applicants are advised that the revised Bachelor of Nursing Program (BSN) program will be implemented in the 2016-2017 academic year.

During this transition period students on the St. Thomas Campus who were given provisional admission in December 2015 will be given the priority for a space in the class. Applications for the BSN program on the Albert A. Sheen Campus will be accepted, however, admission to the School of Nursing will be significantly limited.

Admission to the program is competitive and the selection is based on set criteria, including:
1. At least a “Basic” score on the TEAS examination.
2. Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.5.
3. At least a “C” grade on all required biology courses
4. All prerequisite courses listed in Semester 1-3 on the paradigm.
5. Computer Literacy Examination (taken during the freshman year)

Students with the highest scores in the above categories maybe accepted on the basis of available spaces. If you do not think that you will qualify, please see your nursing faculty advisor to work on a plan of study to strengthen your application in the next admission cycle – Fall 2017.
