St. Thomas Man Dies After Sustaining Multiple Gunshot Wounds In Early Morning Shooting

ST. THOMAS — A man was pronounced dead on Sunday morning dead at the Schneider Regional Medical Center, after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in Contant, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer, Glen Dratte, announced Monday.

According to Mr. Dratte, the 911 emergency call center received a call at approximately 12:16 a.m. in reference to a man who had been shot multiple times. Identified as 22-year-old Jeffrey Javier, Mr. Dratte said the victim was transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

Preliminary information revealed that Mr. Javier was in the Contant area on his way home, when he was shot multiple times. The V.I.P.D’s Major Crime Unit is investigating the incident, Mr. Dratte said.

Police are asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrator or perpetrators, to call 340-774-2211, or send an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers USVI.
