To the wonderful people of STX,
I attended the Jump-Up in Christainsted on May 5th. At about 8:30 p.m., as I was returning to my car, I had an unfortunate accident. I stumbled on the street across from the Crucian Gold store on Strand Street, and almost instantly a gentleman was there to help my husband get me up. I had a bad knot on my forehead, and a terrible nose bleed, not to mention the pain. Within minutes, there was a policeman there with a roll of paper towels for my nose, a plastic garbage bag to put the soiled towels in, and a bottle of ice cold water. He then contacted someone with a golf cart to take me to my car, I could not have asked for better care.
Everyone was so nice and very concerned, I can’t say enough good about them. They were all wonderful. I am sorry I didn’t get the policeman’s name, I would love to personally thank him, and the gentleman that helped pick me up. There were very few people on the street there, so it may have been an employee at one of the stores; I just don’t know where he came from. I ended up with 2 black eyes, and a big pump knot, but the kindness of the people made up for it.
My husband and I visit St. Croix twice a year, and have always loved it, but I have even a better appreciation of it now, because of the wonderful people. We will see you again the last of September, and would love to personally thank the police officer, if I am able to find out who he is.
