Man Is Found Hanging In Bedroom

ST. CROIX — A man was found hanging in his bedroom on Wednesday night in St. Croix, in what the V.I.P.D. has said appears to be a suicide incident, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Thursday afternoon.

According to Mr. Dratte, at approximately 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were dispatched by the 911 emergency call center to Campo Rico, Frederiksted, in reference to a suicide.

Upon their arrival to the scene, officers made contact with a family member who stated that he found his brother hanging from the ceiling in his bedroom. Officers then scanned the victim’s bedroom, and saw a black male lying on the floor, and a white rope that was nailed to the beam of the ceiling.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical technicians, and was transported by the morgue attendant.

According to family, the victim suffered from a mental disorder.
