Six Cars Stolen From Thrifty Car Rental In St. Thomas, Police Say

ST. THOMAS  — Six vehicles were stolen from the Thrifty Car Rental business in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced on Wednesday.

According to Ms. Freeman, citing a police report, on Tuesday at an unspecified time, officers traveled to the car rental business to investigate an unauthorized use of a vehicle. Contact was made with an employee who stated that four vehicles were removed from the property. An all points bulletin (APB) was immediately placed on the missing vehicles, Ms. Freeman said.

On Wednesday, officers with the V.I.P.D.’s criminal investigation unit traveled to Thrifty Car Rental to followup on the matter, and were told that two additional vehicles were stolen along with the four reported missing the day before.

Ms. Freeman said the case was under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. The force is asking anyone with information about the incident to call (340)774-2211 ext. 5606. You may also contact Crime Stoppers U.S.V.I. with your anonymous tip here.
