ST. CROIX — A man was found dead just after midnight on Saturday in the parking lot of the Ruby M. Rouse housing community, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Monday.
According to Mr. Dratte, the 911 emergency call center received notification of discharging of shots in the Water Gut area. Upon officers’ arrival to the location, a man was found lying in the parking lot of the above-mentioned housing community, appearing lifeless with multiple gunshot wounds about his body.
Emergency medical technicians on the scene attempted to resuscitate the victim multiple times, but those efforts were unsuccessful, according to police.
The victim was identified by his mother as 24-year-old Alex Gonzalez. The incident is under investigation by police, according to Mr. Dratte.
