Suicide Reported At Lindberg Bay Beach

ST. THOMAS — A man is said to have hanged himself at the Lindberg Bay Beach early Tuesday morning, V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman has announced.

Ms. Freeman said at about 6:45 a.m. today, the V.I.P.D.’s Major Crimes Unit traveled to the beach to investigate the report, and upon their arrival found an unresponsive Caucasian male hanging from a belt on an iron bar rail. The V.I.P.D. said there appeared to be no signs of foul play.

The deceased, whose identity police withheld pending next of kin notification, was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center’s morgue.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 340-774-2211, or the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-714-9807.
