ST. CROIX — Two men were shot on Saturday night in the same area, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Sunday.

One individual was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital (J.F.L.) by private vehicle at about 9:21 p.m. Saturday. A preliminary V.I.P.D. investigation revealed that the first victim to arrive at the medical facility was shot in the mid-section of his body near Plaza Extra West in Estate Plessen, according to Mr. Dratte.

The second individual, who also was transported to J.F.L. by private vehicle, came in at about 10:25 p.m., according to police. He told investigators that he was at the Quick Serve Gas Station in Estate Plessen, which is near Plaza Extra West, when he heard several gunshots and realized that he was shot in the leg, Mr. Dratte said.

The V.I.P.D. said an investigation into the incidents remains active. Police are asking anyone with information about the shootings to call the V.I.P.D.’s Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211, or send an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers USVI here.
