Man Shot To Death Wednesday Morning In St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — A man was shot several times in the roadway of Lilliendahl & Marienhoj on Wednesday morning, leaving him lifeless behind the wheel of his vehicle. According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte, the incident was reported to 911 at 7:17 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers who came on the scene examined a gray 4-door Honda Civic in the roadway with its engine ignited, with multiple bullet holes in the vehicle. Further inspection revealed an unresponsive male sitting behind the steering wheel with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and found no vital signs.

The victim’s identity was not provided at time of writing, as next of kin had yet to be notified.

The force is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the V.I.P.D. at 340-774-2211, or Crime Stoppers USVI with an anonymous tip here.

Wednesday’s homicide brought the territorial total for 2018 to 44, with 13 in the St. Thomas-St. John District and 31 on St. Croix, according to information provided by the V.I.P.D.
