ST. THOMAS — A man was found lying lifeless in what the V.I.P.D. described as “a pool of blood” in an abandoned house in St. Thomas, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has made known. The body was discovered at approximately 12:58 a.m. in Anna’s Retreat on Monday.
Officers with the V.I.P.D.’s Major Crime Unit were dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival, the officers met a black male lying facedown with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds about his body, according to Mr. Dratte.
The deceased was identified by a family member as 32-year-old as Earl C. Brown. The body was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center by a morgue attendant, Mr. Dratte said.
This morning’s incident brought the territory’s homicide count for 2018 to 45, with 14 in the St. Thomas-St. John District and 31 on St. Croix, according to Mr. Dratte.
