Senator Malone, who experienced an agonizing loss on Saturday against Attorney Stacey Plaskett, has already revealed that he will be running again for the same office come 2016.
Malone congratulated Plaskett on her hard-fought victory, wishing her the best on November 4th, and said that he’d throw his support behind her.
“I wish her the best and as a Democrat, I will support her nomination to run in the general [election]”, Malone told the Daily News. Malone also thanked former Senator Emmett Hansen for “offering himself to serve as well”.
When asked about his plans, especially since he will be without a job in January 2015, Malone left no trace of doubt about his intentions.
“I’m going to, of course, finish my term in the 30th Legislature, we have some unfinished work to do, obviously. Then I will be going to seek my Democratic nomination in 2016.”
