Human Services Announces Availability Of Funds To Assist With Summer Camp Fees For Children

The Department of Human Services, Office of Child Care and Regulatory Services has announced the availability of limited funds to assist eligible parents to pay for summer camp fees for their children, according to a press release Government House issued this afternoon.

Applications will be available at DHS’s Subsidy, Resource & Referral Program (formerly Block Grant) on St. Croix and St. Thomas on Monday, June 15, from 8:00 a.m. until slots are filled; and also at DHS’s multipurpose center on St. John on Tuesday, June 16, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The release adds that applicants interested in receiving summer camp assistance must be employed, attending school or a training program and must meet the eligibility requirements. Children between the ages 3-12 as well as children with disabilities (special age provisions) are eligible to receive summer camp assistance.
